A Designs 500HR - not all 500 modules will fit

thought I'd share

I wanted to rack some of the modules on my lunchbox coz I use them so often in the studio already anyway; API 512c and Purple Audio BIZ.

API 512c won't fit in the 500HR - the tranny is too bulky to pass through the slot - and even if it passed through I'm concerned it will contact the chassis (though I'm not sure what the effect is)

PurpleAudio Biz did fit in.

Gama won't fit easily, I had to shave the slots a bit for the GAMA to pass through. Problem is I only have one GAMA - I will definitely need to get one soon.

the A designs P1 500 model fit perfectly and snugly. :D

there. FWIW.

oh, and now I have holes to fill on my lunchboxes again. (DUH)

update. managed to get the GAMA to pass through but the PCB contacts wont fit perfectly on the slot - and I just don't want to shave the GAMA's PCB.

the P1 will be on the 500HR and I'll want to get another ADesigns 500 module.

I really want to rack two 512c's and two GAMA's.

Hello SoundWeavers,

Yes, we have found that some of the 512c fit and some are just a tad larger.
We have opened up the bays on the face plate to allow for this.
If you care to contact us we will be more than happy to put a new face plate on for you.

Thanks for the reply. Doug at SP relayed your offer, I'll give it a try - maybe the GAMA will fit but the 512's are just too bulky.

Anyway, I ordered a GOLD 500 module to fill in the slot. Maybe it's time I had more color (literally) on my 500s. :D
