Just be carefull and ONLY buy a 1000$ batterie or it won't sound as good. Don't even get me started on cables. This is gearslutz after all.

When I think about my 2500, I'm not thinking about recall.

This thing rocks on everything and if I had bought it before batteries had even existed, I would be happy to note down all of the settings in exchange for that tone!

Doesn't sound as good with the battery, though.

Can't believe none of you have noticed!!!

In some ways not having the battery provokes more creativity. Forces you to give it a second, third, fourth "blind" listen.

Find the "sweet spot". Take notes. Shut down. Pretend your human. Return to the hive. Power on. Listen. Take new notes. Refer to old notes.

Funny how many times I arrive at the same place. Lol

I like that. I like my modular synth for that reason.
it takes only a little while to set the 2500 up.
I haven't bothered with the battery.
To each their own.

Mine lasted about 2 years. Really don't care anymore so I just reset it.

API 2500 settings reset.... what battery?

Thank you, thank you!!

I'm just giving this thread a Bump, caused it just saved me from lots of frustration.
Gonna go get me a battery tomorrow!

I bought my 2500 about 3 years ago.... but only really just started using it a lot lately, as i have finally implemented analog summing... but every time i power down and come back the next day.... the stupid 2500 Tone settings would reset.
I'd be working on a mix for like an hour til i realized that they were wrong, and suddenly... hey... there's the drum bus sound I remember from yesterday!

The real unforgivable part of this story.... is WHY API doesn't even mention installing or replacing the battery in the User Manual......

Thanks again you Slutz........... Mirolab.

When I got mine it had a paper tab sticking out of the top with an instruction to pull the tab to activate the (preinstalled) battery

But should I ditch it and get a NOS telefunken battery?
