RCA 77 DX magnet is needed

The previous silly owner dropped this mic in shipping when touring the USA, the magnet cracked and broke in half due to the shock, the mic was repaired as well as could be with araldite glue... and now it works but not like it should... does anyone know where i can find just the magnet for one of these? strange bacause the mic is still very useful on female & male vocals & from rap to country music it sounds a bit cranky and has a low output but otherwise a very enjoyable sound.

If anyone would know it would be Clarence Kane at ENAK Microphone Repair in Pitman, New Jersey [+1] 856-589-6186 or Wes Dooley at Audio Engineering Associates in Pasedena, California [+1] 626-798****28

Best of luck with your search.

Just don't hold your breath for speedy service.

9months for a ribbon and new grill set????????? I get tired just remembering it.

FWITW, Wes does all my STC's and is currently restoring my 44-BX. He and ENAK would be first stop shop no question.

Cheers

I've used both Clarence at ENAK. and AEA and would recommend either shop. Of course, the mic is going to have a low output even when in normal working condition...

He may be the most wonderful guy in the world but the work I've heard of his has been less than impressive. As always, YMMV.

Peace.
