AMS RMX

What is it like? I just got an Eventide H969, and even though it's really interesting, it's by no means natural.

Is this a more natural reverb unit?

Also, does it compare to anything?

wouldn't put it in the natural sounding reverb department at all, but it's a great sounding unit. different boxes have tried to emulate it, but i don't really know what i would compare it to.

Hi Soupking

We got an RMX not too long ago and I am loving it. It's pretty grainy and crappy sounding but in a very awesome way. The only thing I could remotely compare it to would be an SPX 90 but only in terms of grainyness

Want me to send you a sample?

No. Not natural in the least. Totally different then a Lexicon's fakeness too...

VERY hip in it's artifical tendencies though... I dunno? Creamy lo-fi? Does that work?

Yeah, that definitely paints a picture.

I'm wondering what natural is outside a EMT.

I think the high-end TC verbs sound pretty natural... more so then Lexicon. Stuff like the M3k, M4k vs. a PCM91, 300 or "up".

Nothing, but nothing beats a big room with speakers & mics... I love EMT 140's & all but they don't sound "real" to me either. They DO sound damn good though!
