Did some mixes at a studio that had a pair (forget the model - smallish closefields) and the mixes translated really well. Heard a couple other models briefly on another occasion and they seemed nice. Not too much experience with them other than those mixes, but they performed very well in that case.

I swear by them. They are a bit weird at first but I have had great results with them. A lot of people swear by them and I would be just another one in the line.

I couldn't get used to the front ports of the Proacs blowing in my face.

they are super duper flat. if you can get used to that it'll help you a lot. i love them they sound absolutely great. i've used genelec's adam's manley mastering lab tannoy's and these are by far and away the best ever....don't scrimp on the amp though....

I listened to the ProAc 100 at Piety Street during a TapeOpCon pre party. They were in the B-room so I could sit and listen to a few songs. I liked the listenability and the detail. Id like to try mixing on a pair sometime.

I use a pair of Audio Research D-200s run as mono blocks for my Studio 100s. Love them.
Proacs are good with a decent amp and great with a really good amp(s).

we own the pro acs run on a modest hafler -- we think they sound great -- warm and open, not a fake modern thing that some monitors are now doing -- we bought them over adams and dynaudio...

I actually used to use mine with a Hafler 9505 before I got the Audio Research amps. I really like the Haflers but the the two A.R. amps are amazing. 400 watts into each cabinet!

The Studio 100s really do a great job of revealing sound "color" & "quality", especially in the top end.

I've had a pair of Responce 2-SC for about ten years...
Love them, these are the smaller model then the 100's but slightly more accurate.
Powered with Mark Levinson 303.

Good deal. I couldn't find a used set to save my life when I was buying. That says something...

Pro Acs are a little like printers - the real sost is not the purchase price, it's the constant restocking.

The woofers blow pretty easily. A bigger power amp that doesn't clip will help that as will a crossed over sub, which isn;'t necessarily the best sounding way to run them.

As far as people who haven't hear them actual crack and blow, you'd be surprised at how much better a new pair of woofers will sound even wehn the current ones don't sound bad.

I haven't found anything better though.
