They said it would be Q3 2007, so going by that they still have until the last day of september to release it before you can start implying that it has missed its release date and will never surface.

Well, it was SUPPOSED to be Q1 of 2007, then they switched it to Q3 so WHO knows with Steiny. They may even kill it like the last update to SX3. Just like Apple Logic IMO. Ghostware

No worries. Nuendo 4 is in beta right now. I am thinking there will be a September release but you didn't hear it from me. Nuendo is king as far as I am concerned.

How will Nuendo be any different from Cubase. Will the summing be any different?

Summing? We are not going to get into that debate are we? What goes in Nuendo sounds the same as what goes out as far as I am concerned. Back in the days of Cubase VST that wasn't the case I admit but that was ages ago.

I use Cubase 4 on one machine and Nuendo 3 on another and I still feel better about Nuendo for stability, look and feel...

...I guess I am in no hurry or worry for Nuendo 4, as there is nothing 3 cannot do that I need.

No, it will be just as perfect as Nuendo 3.

Cubase is the new "audio" unit and Nuendo is geared towards "multimedia" They go back and forth with that....

In real world terms...., Cubase SX was a stripped down version of Nuendo, allowing guys who could'nt afford Nuendo to still have the ability to enjoy the audio aspect of what Nuendo was able offer.

Cubase 4 was more of an innovative leap towards being more "original" by offering some cool new things not currently present in Nuendo 3.

I am really interested in seeing where they are going with Nuendo 4.

This is what I have heard

Cubase will be the main Steinberg product, but you will be able to buy the Nuendo add-on package, but the core audio part will be Cubase. Maybe I am wrong, but that is what a Yamaha rep told me a little while back.

I've been keeping track of the nuendo forums and N4 is under tight wraps...rumours are that is has some very cool post features that distinguish more because currently, Nuendo is 90% + cubase.

Yup, you are wrong. Don't get me started again on how MOST reps for MOST large (and many smaller) companys are WOEFULLY in the dark about this type of stuff. heh heh

There will be a few marketing changes... which I am not at liberty to speak about..., and who knows... they may change before N4 hits the street... but currently that's not it. heh

As far as I heard everything is on track for N4 and the Q3 release.

Great new features by the way... for more details check out the Nuendo user forum.

cubase and nuendo had the same audio fonctionality and engine so far

Indeed it is NOT the first time for a native DAW . . . but I'll bite my tongue, because I'm sure it'll just piss people off if I mention it. ;-)
