Technical Console Question: Problem With A Trident Series 24

Hey all,
Recently I picked up a Trident Series 24, and the lights (lamps) on the meters were out, I replaced the blown fuse in the power supply, just to have it blow again, and again, and again. So I went out and bought more fuses, and disconnected the console from the power supply, and tried it again, this time the fuse did not blow until I reconnected the power supply to the board. So I am realizing now that there is a short somewhere in the board, and not the power supply; so last night I took out all of the bus modules and reseated them, and saw that I am missing a chip from bus module 23/24, one of the modules that feeds the meter.

My question is, could a missing chip on a channel cause the fuse that supplies power to the lamps in the power supply to blow, or could it cause a short in the lamp?

Any advice would be great...

no.. you've got other issues...pull the wiring harness from the master section and power it up... if the fuse blows there's a short in the master... if not then add a channel at a time till it blows again and that's your bad channel.... rinse and repeat for other channels...
