Otari tape recorder

Just several months prior to my move overseas, to Europe, I happened on a local Otari MTR-100A for a real good price, one hard to pass up, even if I have to take it with me. The machine is currently in a working environment, small studio but I have not yet had a chance to see it in person. I spoke to the owner and arranged a viewing. I have good reason to believe the recorder is in good form but that's up in the air right now, till I actually test it. I wish to clear up something prior to me even seeing it and so I ask you guys, those intimately familiar with those machines.. Is it possible to change the operating voltage on those Otaris for use in a different country, without the use of an external step down transformer?

Thanks a bunch!thumbsup

I can only tell you that other Otari machines did not have a facility for this and I can find no mention of the power transformer having separate 115V and 230V inputs in the tech. docs. to our MX80.
