Schoeps/Telefunken M221 pinout

Hi,

Does anyone have pinout/schematics for the M221 mics?

Thanks.

Hi Ted,

Still haven´t tested mine. I have found the power supplies and the required connectors and am going to make the cables this weekend.

I have heard other M221 mics though, absolutely great.

Good luck.

I guess I got lucky- mine are coming with power supplies and all necessaries. One vintage cardioid capsule, and then getting a couple Schoeps adaptors to be able to run the new capsules.

I'm pretty thrilled!

Have you seen this?

The ones I will be receiving are 221b's.

Hi Ted,

I finally tested mine and they are just wonderful.

The figure O pattern gave me the best acoustic guitar sound I have ever heard. Wow, almost a religious experience

Alright!

Looks like Wes Dooley is going to have to figure out how to get the power supplies from 220V to 110V before I can play with mine...

Good luck Ted. Can´t you just use a regular step-up transformer?

Actually I just got the word and they are good to go at 110V. Maybe they were that way all along, don't know. So it shouldn't be long!

I will be getting an original vintage cardioid capsule, and a compatible 3-way capsule that only works in fig. 8. (that cap is easily worth it for $85!) Then a couple new omni caps with Schoeps adapter so to work with the 221b's.

I wonder how much better it is to go with the original capsules. Hopefully I will find some around for a good price at some point. Any idea what it's like looking for those?

If I have a religious experience with my new omnis, I don't think I'll worry about finding the old ones quite as much!
