You're going to have to EQ the crap out of it on your voice... but do not be afraid to do so because it can be a very useful vocal mike if you do. It is a weird and underrated thing, but it's also too delicate to take on tour.

A good mic that tours well and also does great vocal recordings is the Neumann KMS84i

Haven’t read the whole thread, but perhaps, exploring some different room treatment or acoustic isolation might serve you well?

I’ve definitely got mics with different patterns, but I just feel like, most of the time, when recording vocals especially, the room’s got more to do with control than the various iterations of cardioid patterns.
