Will Neumann U87 (1970s) fit Neumann EA4 shockmount?

I dont want to shell out nearly $400 for the EA87 or get some cheap knock off that might break and drop my mic. The EA4 doesn't list the U87 as a fit but it says its 5/8-27 (or whatever it was), the same as the EA87

I can recommend Neumann Z48 https://en-de.neumann.com/z-48

I appreciate the suggestion but I intend to hang it upside down (and angled) from a scissor boom attached to the top of the booth, so I'm looking for a mount I can properly attach it to (like the Neumann EA87/EA4). I don't wanna take any chance of it slipping when someone moves the scissor arm too carelessly.
Also, it appears to actually be slightly MORE expensive than the EA87.

I've been using these with our vintage 87's, they're fantastic, and pretty reasonably priced. One of the best shock mounts I've ever used.... They also work on all kinds of mics.

rycote make the best shockmounts I have ever used, the USM can fit almost any mic size as well, I would highly recommend one if you haven't bought one yet.

I got an EA87 on the way coming from a very respectable fellow gearslut lol.
I have the universal mount that came with my MXL 2006. I've never used the mic but the shockmount served me well for years. I just spent way too much time and money getting this mic to trust it with any universal mount.

I bought a peluso once, it broke at the main tightening screw. Thankfully my microphone wasn’t damaged.
