Trio11 be vs. SM9 ?

I currently own Twin6 be in my room, which is about 17ft by 10.
I had an extremely bad mode happening at 120hz, so I am about to order GIK 244 bass traps.

But recently, I got to hear SM9 and I was blown away.. So I was thinking of upgrading mine, but then I saw Trio11 be. Does anybody know the differences between the two? Is trio11 the new flagship?

Will either be suitable for my room size? I'm thinking about extending my studio room from 17x10 to 17x17. Not sure if this will make any difference.

Looking for some help!

Thanks in advance.

Are you sure you want to make your room square?

FWIW, I have the Trio 6 in a 11.5-ish x 12.5-ish room and they work very well, but could easily handle a much larger room.

I think getting the room treated well is paramount.

Lives for gear

The Trio11's are great, but they're far too big for your space. They're really a mid-field. SM9's are the way to go. With the pricing the way it is now, it's a hell of a bargain. Make sure you have some sturdy stands. They're hefty!

Here for the gear

Don't want to open another thread, i'm having the same conundrum right now.
Have Twin6 + sub, want to get SM9 (+sub) or Trio11 (+sub).

I can't find a pair of Trios here to test them out. Heard SM9 quite a couple of times and know i can't go wrong with them.
On the other hand, Trios look crazy
