Soundcraft Delta Master Insert Cabling...

Hi all,

Not exactly high-end, but not low-end either, so I opted to post my inquiry here for some advice.

I have a Soundcraft Delta DLX which has unbalanced inserts on the master. I want to patch in two balanced devices (BSS FCS-926 & Aphex AX-720) and will make the cables myself.

My question is should I leave the cold pin on the XLR inputs/outputs open or ground it?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks. It seems sometimes open is preferable, other times grounded. Thanks again.

Keep in mind the Delta insert levels are -12 db below the levels coming off the balanced XLR's. That may cause some noise issues. I set them here at -6 db.
