My MAS is on the way! Thanks for the info.

I’m currently listening to Alan Evans on the Recording Stufio Rockstars podcast and he’s very enthusiastic about the Zulu, saying he uses four of them in his workflow. Definitely got me curious.

That said, my plan is to start with the Anamod, then experiment with some of these other variations.

For me, I don’t get lost in exactness between the original and an emulation. I think of it more as the role it plays, and it sounds like Anamod with the ATR card could definitely play that role.
+1 for the Zulu here. I only have one so I switch it around a lot.

I love tracking snare through it or overheads.

For mixing, have a hybrid setup where I generally put the Zulu on the mix insert of my RND5060 after my Stam SA-4000. The vibe is tremendous!

Put the MAS through some paces today on the mix bus.

Sounds as I imagined, and plays a similar role to how I used to use the Phoenix Nicerizer.

I loved the nicerizer just to push the two track mix through it.

While it’s not the exact same sound, it plays a similar role, and I love the flexibility of the EQ bumps on the MAS.

I’m currently leaning on more color, and only partially blending (1/3).

Look forward to starting a mix with it on, as opposed to adding it at the end, as I did today.

The updated RM58 Classic Stereo Limiter with Roger Mayer's 456HD tape‑simulation processor may be the ticket! And it includes two large, mechanical VU meters. The RM58 Classic Stereo Limiter is an update of the RM58 from the early 1970s...
