midas h2000 - can i use the preamps as line inputs for mixing?

Hallo,
its been a long time since i posted here,
i'm going to build a new studio this year and i'd like to use my Midas H2000 console for recording and mixing,

i kinda got bored with mixing in the box, but i think i got one technical problem if i want to mix on this console, there are no line inputs,
so whats the best way to go from my DAW to the console?

i could connect TRS snakes to the insert inputs, these are line inputs if i'm correct,
but then i don't have volume control (no preamp) and of course i can't use my inserts.

if i just TRS-XLR snakes i can send all my DAW outputs to the preamps of my mixer but if i'm correct i'll have impedance issues?

the line outs of my soundcard (rme ufx and some extra outputs via adat converters) are LINE so they have a high impedance,
the XLR preamps of the midas are low impedance
if i'm correct,

will i lose some high/low freqenties if i do this?

...i used to have cheap mixing desks (like allen and heath gs3), if i remember correctly i could push the "line input" button and then the line in signal goes trough the preamp (i think),
is it correct that in this configuration the line signal simply goes trough the preamp... and does something change the impedance here?

or am i worried about nothing here?

friendly regards,

J

From the manual

"The PAD switch gives 25dB of
attenuation to the input signal which will
allow the connection of high output
microphones or line level signals. If the
input amplifier is transformer coupled
(option) the pad greatly reduces the risk
of saturation at very low frequencies."
