The second song was processed horribly in the video. It sounded like he popped one of the speakers...and im listening softly. The unit itself sounds good.
i had one reserved in Thomann for a month and then i found one in stock in Studiocare.com so i cancelled my Thomann order and grabbed this one.. still on the way, should receive it in few days

Thanks for your reply! Please let us know how you like it!
Copying my post from another thread:
Great job SSL. I'm mastering through the Fusion as we speak. As per some of the guide videos giving a bit of lift in the top end shelf and combining it with a lightly drive HF compressor crossing over an octave below gives some great results. The Vintage Drive is as you'd expect but the major here for me is in the stereo image transformer. It's extremely versatile in being able to boost the whole sides and also boot or cut the bass in the side.
I'm going DAW>Bettermaker EQ>SSL Fusion>Manly NuMu>Burl Mothership.
Class now with that colouring option outboard (SSL and or Burl) and quite transparent Manley.
Can't wait to get mine! I ordered one with Thomann and should arrive Tuesday. Do you guys think it's wise to leave the Fusion power switch in the ON position the whole time and turning it off and on via the main power strip? Asking this because I'm gonna rackmount it and it's gonna be kinda annoying having to reach for the power switch behind the Fusion everytime..

I do this.
I is in the same rack as my Gbus which has no power switch.
It should be fine.
I’m getting a unit to try next week... going to be really interesting. I have the Culture Vulture as well which I like, but it can get too gritty sometimes. Also, the Fusion looks like a more complete package with the added features besides the drive. Going to be fun to test!
Hey
I'm considering getting a Fusion soon. Don't own any other outboard, and won't be able to splash out on a compressor just yet
I *do* have some great software compressors though.
2 questions - 1) what software compressors would you recommend to combine with the SSL?... 2) where in the chain would you put the software compressor? Post SSL on the master buss?

1/ Whatever does the job. I tend to reach for the MJUC or Waves SSL Comp for mixbus duties. Haven't tried them with the Fusion though.
2/ My main impression was always that the Fusion should be last in the chain. But anything goes as long as it sounds good, of course.
Love it. It's easy to over do it, but it definitely has a great sound. I keep a G series Comp patched in the insert at all times (don't always use it) and then run the Neve MBP after the Fusion. Love the combo.
