1) Try out a variety of "likely suspects", before you
buy.
2) A dealer who'll let you demo some mics,
or a dealer that has a lenient return policy.

If I wasn't sure, and didn't have an opportunity to audition any LDC'S...

My personal bias would be to get a microphone with a relatively neutral response.
Something like a 414 B-ULS/XLS, Lewitt 540/640,
or U47 FET style microphone.

Looking into the CM800T as well... but been trying to get in contact with Advanced Audio via email and phone with no results

Trying to figure out how long the delivery process will be.

I've ordered from them 3 times now and they have always been pretty quick and with good communication.

I've ordered a CM800T this summer, since I am based in Germany, their european distributor from Portugal sent it over to me. No problems with the delivery!

I was curious about the sound! I don't own a real C800 but I own two Brauners (VMX & Panthera) and a Neumann TLM 103. And I must say the CM800T keeps up well with the VMX! I am running it through my Avalon 737sp into RME fireface ucx. Clean and cripsy sound!

To think this $795 mic can go toe-to-toe with the likes of the C800G / VMX etc. is incredible.

Great selection - very tempting :¬)
