Equitech surge protection

I bought an Equitech Model Q balanced transformer for power conditioning, but does its surge protection COMPLETELY safeguard everything plugged into it in the event of a power outage, or direct lightning strike?

No, on the Equitech site it mentions that
the TVSS may degrade with repeated surges and need to be replaced, though
it does say it has a backup surge protection method.

I would recommend Surgex products:
rated to handle a minimum of 1000 surges of 6000 amps and 3000 volts
without failure. For surges the max let-through voltage is 170v.
In addition, the higher
end products (eg SX1115 or SX1120) also have ICE (in-rush current elimination), EMI/RFI filtering
and COUVS(catastrophic over and under voltage protection against sustained voltage over 145v or under 90v).
For Surgex to work it must be the only equipment plugged directly into the wall
outlet (everything else plugs into the Surgex.)

Besides using Surgex, it is essential
to have proper grounding for the building.
Power, satellite, cable, antenna, and phone must all be properly grounded to the same ground point where power enters the building.

One of the problems with Equitech is their logo and branding. Everybody I see always has a different variation of how to type out the company's name, so it's always a hassle trying to find any of their products used.

Equi=Tech Branding

Hello. I saw someone mention the Equi=Tech logo and branding issue. There is no issue on our end. We have always used the same logo and branding although we’ve updated our website and have somewhat “streamlined” our overall look. The company is now under new management and is very interested in comments and questions that will help us be more efficient and address the needs of our customers. We are the pioneers of balanced power, having literally written (or re-written to be more accurate) the NEC to include balanced power, making it possible for the entire industry to have expanded. Although our patents have expired and the field is open for other companies to sell symmetrical power, our product line still remains the standard of the industry. [url]www.Equitech.com
