The drivers of the Neumann KH310 are built in China, apparently, but not the K+H 0300 which it resembles.

From what I understand, they make the best glass bongs...which does hold water.

Now, now, class, we've been over this before. Repeat after me :

Jimmy makes the best glass bong. . which does hold water.

Jimmy and Jane make the best glass bongs.. which do hold water.

There will be a test on Friday.

Teacher: "Who can spell 'before'?"

James: "I can ma'am...bifo, B - E - F - O - R - E, bifo."

Teacher: "Good James, now can you please use it in a sentence?"

James: "Yes ma'am, 2 + 2 bifo..."

Hmmn. I don't think this thread has really been about monitors for a very long time. ; )

The question is whether the need is real or was created by the market. Was the need manufactured right along with the high end speakers or, am I truly working at a disadvantage without such monitors.

Sure, it would be nice. Impressive, luxurious, even cool. But what about the need part?

I wonder if anyone else has asked themselves this and found that once having seen (or heard) the promised land (or promised audio), they can never go back. They would be unable to work at the same level. Nobody would like their mixes ever again because they just don't sound good on iPhones, Pods or whathaveyou anymore.

I suspect I will eventually dive in but I wonder if I would just be spoiling myself and really not getting better mixes, just better playback?
Great, detailed monitors can be revealing, but I fully believe your room + knowing your monitors play a more important role than WHAT your monitors are.

Invest in room treatments if you haven’t already, and Sonarworks, if you haven’t already. Game changer for me. My mixes have translated much better after buying Sonarworks. Probably the best investment I’ve ever made.
