New ME Geithain ML 811K1 Mastering monitors

ML 811K1

I saw there hadn't been any talk about these...

I had been thinking of going a pair of RL901 for reference with my Event Opals, but now I might bet upgrading my mains to these and using the Opals as a 'smaller' reference along with a mixcube and headphones. I thought: I've been getting great mixes on the Opals over the couple years, main focus is to upgrade acoustics and monitoring for the next studio arrangement, and the ML 811K1 having a cardioid bass response from 30hz through 250hz would make treating a room for big mains really easy in any adequate space with the baffles, traps and diffusor panels I have at hand.

Cant wait to hear them!

Before even thinking of buying speakers like these l would invest serious money in acoustics....Just becouse the have the k bass it does not mean that room modes will be eliminated by default...these are the hi end of ME Geithain l bet the would sell betwern 15 to 20k.....for mixing and music prod l would look at me 934 or 944..
These are meant to be used between 3and 6 mt.

These are pretty new.

Info is here, brochure is HERE and the full instruction manual is HERE.

I am trying to find out the price - but as they are the top of the range, above even the RL801K, I expect the price to be £ 25k + a pair.

Listening distance is 3m to 8m (801 is 3m to 6m and 901 is 2m to 4m for comparison).

More like £ 25k plus a pair (I am trying to find out the price).

The 3-6m distance is the 801.

The 811 is 3-8m.

The 934 and 944 are both 1-2.6m listening distance.

youre right, that is why it is my priority first and foremost.
my current room is treated with the opals giving a flat response, but im moving to a new studio space soon and will be building a bigger room

thats a pretty epic price jump when i was planning to spend ~5k on monitors
nothing in the price range of the opals does it for me except opals

Ive had a lot of trouble "upgrading" from my Opals as well.. Nothing $10k or under is really an "upgrade" imo.
