Typical dealer markup on used or consigned high-end gear?

Hey all. I am considering a serious liquidation to finance a console. It obviously would be easier to sell my used gear to the console vendor, but I assume I'd take a haircut. Though this may be offset by a "discount" on the console.

But how much of a haircut? What's the typical markup from what the dealer gives the seller to what the dealer charges?

Assume fairly high-end stuff like vintage 500b's, brauner Valvet, 2-1176, vintage SSL bus comp.

I would say probably 50%. There are no deals there. The problem is they will not give a good discount on the console either.

You'll always make more selling it yourself. Re-sellers need to buy for the lowest price, so that they make money on the sale.

Hi 808 - Do you have any mics? I'm in DC and [always] on the prowl.
