U67 possible PSU issue

Hey guys just looking for feedback.

Today i connected my NU67 PSU to my preamp and noticed if my PSU is on before i plug in my mic i get a terrible buzzing noise through the preamp (like very loud)!
Not a huge issue as when i connect my mic to the PSU it goes away. I guess i should probably connect my mic before turning on the PSU anyway. But now im curious if this is normal or if i have an earthing issue with my PSU?

I also had a look inside the PSU and it seems that the XLR connector has been wired pin3 hot and pin 2 cold (pin 2 has a blue wire connected). I could be wrong but im wondering if the person the did the mod from a Tuchel got it wrong. Any ideas?
Thanks!!

Why on earth would you turn on the psu before you plug the mic in to it?

Pfheww ...

Anyway, I'd just close the PSU, connect the mic ad hit record.

In all seriousness, there's high voltage inside that box.

As in lethal.

Just so you (and others) know.

Perhaps you already knew, but one can never warn too often.

Thanks for the heads up. Yes i know, i wouldn't touch anything with the power on. There is alot of exposed 240V terminals

Even after the power is turned off (or better yet, the power cord removed), high voltage charges are still present!

I recommend not doing that any more.

to the op to clarify:
never touch anything unless you know your stuff - this is the same when the unit is disconnected from its power chord. sinc you did not know that: do not touch anything you could die.
never turn on a psu without its mic connected. you are all good and ready for record

What happens if you turn on the power supply with no mic connected?

Not that I've ever done that
