B&O BM5

Hello,

I have a B&O (Beomic) BM5 that needs to be re-ribboned.

I have had little luck finding a place that will work on this mic.

Here is one find: Ribbon Microphones | Xaudia does anyone know anything about these guys? If not, who is your trusted ribbon mic repair person?

Thanks,
Nick

Xaudia is really good imho.
I had a cable made for my bm5 from them..
Perfect, great communication and felt honest.
I'd probably need to refurb some parts of the bm5.. Would go with Xaudia for sure.
Great guy!

I hope this helps,

Cheu

I would check with Wes Dooley/AEA. They were repairing ribbons way before making their own and they can deal with most. But you haven't stated which country you're in so the States might not be the best/easiest solution.

Xaudia served my B & O bm5 and turned it into a great mic!
A problem with my mic were the old magnets which were very weak = weak signal. Xaudia replaced them and ribbons Now signal is strong and sound is great.

Well as I am now Aincient I have had a number of re ribbon jobs done by various specialists.
And was very very pleased with the work Steven Sank did on an old Reslo Celleste. Wow that's a great mic now.:-)X
