MCI JH-24 Counter problem

Hi All,
I am looking for info on how to solve the problem i am having with the counter on my tape machine. It is not stable, sometimes it will work, some times it will be off, sometimes it will stop working altogether.
I read on the MARA Machines site that he recaps the capacitor on the counter board. I can't find the board! I can see it in the manual, it has just one 15 uF/33 volts cap, i think. BUT WHERE IS IT?! Can you help?!
Thanks,
J

What year is the machine and which board are you referring to? Have you opened up the auto locater and checked for fried components, maybe a chip?

I can't see any reference to a "counter board" in the manual.
What is it called in your manual?
Display Board?

If the problem is intermittent then it won't be a capacitor.

Most likely the molex connectors. Have you reflowed all the solder joints on the motherboard molex connectors?
Does it have red IC sockets? if so they all need replacing.
