I've noticed that the price of used Gibson guitars has come way down, so I picked a 1984 Black Knight Custom, a 2007 Melody Maker, and a Matsumoku Epi Sheraton.

It's still early, but I just bought these two guys. I'm a sucker for pairs of mics. Hoping to get them KH'd.

Picked up a pair of Telefunken v72's racked by David Marquette at Mercury Recording.
So far I've used them with a pair of early 70's c414 combs on overheads and it sounds incredible.
This is the best natural balance of snare, cymbals, and hat that I've heard yet in an overhead setup.
The cymbals are like soft pillows. Pshhhh.... no harshness, but present, exactly the right balance in the mix.
I really don't need a hat mic with this setup.

Did a swap yesterday for a groove tubes glory compressor.

Sounds awesome on vocals and bass guitar.

My brother sent his usual GC gift certs for Christmas. For several days of post holiday obligations, I couldn't think of anything the studio or live rig needed.

Walking into GC was a turmoil...Nothing I could imagine even sounded attractive.

Fortunately, I found a Marshall and drummer's throne that needed a new home.

After 6 years, this contraption may finally be done!

Did a lot of 500 DIY in december but these are remained on the wishlist.

Makes the balance to 24 channels of preamp, 24 channels of dynamics and 12 channels of EQ.

More EQ to add in 2017, more software to remove.

I'm GASing pretty good for a motorized control surface. I've got my eye on the Behringer BCF2000, but the FP8 looks like a much smaller piece of kit which suits my current desk situation just fine. It also has the scribble strips which are cool for situational awareness. But, for an extra $100, the X-Touch adds even more (jog, master fader, channel-independent rotaries). But, now we're talking about $600 worth of surface, so I'm right back to the $250 BCF.

The fine print says Audio Maintenance Ltd so I would assume that is the AML you refer to.

Yes they are. Great kit and so far a big leap forward from my previous default 2bus chain: 33609J/D and a Manley stereo Pultec.

Other stuff on my wishlist for this year:
- another pair of Capi BT50's
- a pair of the Don's Classics EQ250 (Sontec in a 500rack)
- a custom DIY L/R <-> M/S en/decoder
- another pair of diy 500 neve EQ's

I have been a petal slut this year. This seems like a golden age for interesting effects.

I sold my Mu-Tron Bi-Phase to get the Glou-Glou Rendezvous. Zero Regrets!

A pair of BAE 1073Ds & a Serpant Audio SB4001.

Funny... I just saw DeadPoet's post above regarding the AML gear. I plan on ordering a pair of ezP-1As next week and was contemplating the 2254's at a later date. Now that I see them all racked altogether in pairs... I just might have to have a sit down with the wife!

If the 500 is anything like this you'll be pleased.
My Charge 2 Fitness tracker counts steps I take.
The goal is 10,000 everyday.
It seems to think when I play keyboards I'm walking...?

Since getting the Space Heater I get 20,000+ since it thinks I'm walking.

Great solid build too.
It's only 8 or 9 inches deep but weighs close to 10 pounds.

About 162 bucks a pound....

I love mine. It was bought because I can't play guitar but I want guitar parts in my songs. I wrote a melody on it yesterday, fed it through the TAL dub delay and Black Hole reverb and I almost fell out of my chair.

It's my one piece of gear that gets used in every song somehow- drums, synths, keys, basses, percussion... and having everything categorized by icons on the iPad has sped up my writing process 10x easy.

Don't hesitate if you're thinking about picking one up
