AKG ELA M 251 E, before or after Telefunken?

We all know that AKG manufactured the ELA mics for Telefunken. But I got my hands on 1 with the AKG logo and serial number around 1060. Does anyone know if these mics with the AKG logo were built before, or after the time when Telefunken put their logo on those mics?

It sounds exacly as an ELA should!! I am really happy, and would love to learn more about its story.

There also were AKG labelled 250s but they are extremely rare it seems:

They were made after the licensing deal with Telefunken ended.

Similar story with the U47, earlier on, although that one was never exclusively made for Telefunken of course.

I've seen one that had just an AKG sticker on it, but it had no serial number, so my guess was that it was a mic for internal factory use, or demo.

Similar to the Siemens SM203 and SM204.

Info found here. Peluso 22 251 | towards the bottom of the page. Backround the Original Telefunken 251 is where it starts.

Didn’t the large badge Neumann 47’s come out before any Tele 47’s?

The large Neumann badge on U47, that also included the mic's serial number (through 1952), predated the "Telefunken" badge, though Telefunken was involved with Neumann from the beginning of the mic's history: Telefunken owned 25% of Neumann, even during the war. Hence Neumann's exclusive on the VF14 and (at least for while) AC701 tubes.

Therefore there are no large-badge Telefunken U47.

The "Telefunken" badge on 1950s and early 1960s Neumann mics identified those that were either destined for U.S. export to Elite (through 1958), or domestic delivery of mics that were part of a "turn-key package" to recording studios within Germany: Telefunken would require the recording equipment that was part of the package to be re-badged.
