"Feedback Limiter" harmonic saturation Requisite Audio

Is anyone familiar with the Requisite Audio L2m and its "Feedback Limiter" knob? It adds grit and saturates in a great way. I'm looking for compressor/limiters that have a similar design. Could anyone could shed a light on exactly what is going on with that feature? A mastering engineer I work with has the Requisite and it's great. They also make a pre with the same limiter and feedback design.

That is, i belive, a character of the make up gain. Tubes can have varying degrees of negative feedback. I saw this new mic pre that had adjustable negative feedback plus some extra tricks up it's sleeve. Products - Tube Microphone Preamplifiers, Line Amplifiers & Transformers | Coil Audio

I think some Chandler gear has it as well but they're not tubes so i'm not sure it sounds the same.
