Tracking from VCA faders

Tomorrow I will be recording a jazz quartet, bass, drums, piano, vocals. It'a one day session, five tunes. The mix budget is tight so I wanted to get ahead by printing from the VCA faders instead of the small faders, and riding on the way in. It's an SSL 6048 E/G+. Great sounding console, and well maintained.

But I do know that the VCA faders add some color. It may not be desirable color given the source material, and I know I hear the VCA's anyway when I'm monitoring. But it's a demo that has some serious promise, and some real heavyweights will be hearing it. Anyone with more experience on this have any opinions for me. Am I worrying about nothing?

I've tracked through the VCA's in an MCI 636 and thought it sounded great. I would think the SSL should be even "cleaner". I wouldn't worry at all.
