MPX VS PCM81 Pitch algos

Has anyone had the oportunity to compare the quality of the pitch shifter algorithm in these two Lexicon units?
Both for micro-pitch and large intervals?
I'm surprised with the MPX G2's pitch shifter for octave FX (for guitars), I was expecting it to be unusable for more than a note at a time, but it's not. It's quite cool actually, no high end Eventide cool but quite interesting in it's own right. Much more usable than that in the tc FireworX that's supposed to be a "poor" man's Eventide. The Fireworx has many strong points but polyphonic pitch shifting in large intervals is not one of them, at all.
I'm actually wondering whether a PCM 80/81 would be an improvement in that regard. If it is, it'll be my next target.
I'm really interested in the modulated delays and reverbs of the PCM to begin with.
