Genelec S-30 monitors?

It seems these were considered one of the must have speakers for a while by many studio guys. Apparently ther're no longer being made. They appear to be bookshelf speakers but very expensive. After checkin out Ebay seems there's the S30D. A digital version.
Anyone using them care to comment on this speaker?
Shed some light on the different versions? why they vanished?
Are ADAM speakers picking up where Genelec lleft off with a ribbon tweeter?
What's a used set of S30s run? Is there a current replacement?

Thanks Mike.
So i guess only the D series is the digital version?
Anybody still carry the c and b series?
What current model of either Genelecs or maybe Adams can these be compared to?

More like mid fields.
they are much bigger than 8050's/1032's.

I had two sets (one in each room) for a while.
S3a's arrival sent them off to ebay.

The D version from what I've hear is quite definitely an improvement... Has a bigger and more open sound than the original. It does have analog inputs so you don't need to go into them digitally.

Great speakers, though- like them more than the ADAM's.

Hello
I own Genelec S30D and it is the best nearfield monitor that I worked with.
Actually 5 years I using them and I can say I am happy....

Spec: Very linear at lower levels (tri amplified), AES/EBU -no coloring from cables, Ribbon tweeter sound very natural and no distortion or artifacts also, wide stereo image ,
Tone controls on every driver from 1 db ...Peak limiter protection for all drivers, No click system on booting, very expensive .... ....was ,I mean..
Anyway they don"t making them anymore, but they will support all parts for the next 6 years or so...
