Ok, more 500 questions...

Ok guys,
Just jumped on the 500 wagon. Getting 32+ modules for our API The Box to use as inserts, only for mixing. Going to keep it pretty simple to get a smooth and easy workflow. I am thinking mostly API (Vintage or new 550A + 525 or 527 Comps). Possibly a few neve style eq:s as well (Have tried the Heritage 73JR, Kind of like it). Definitely a couple of Maag:s EQ2. Alan smart c1. Going to be mixing mostly stems. Want an easy, preset type of set up.

Kind of:
ch 1-4 solo mono stuff
ch 5-6 - Drums - api + api,
ch 7-8 - bass - api + api,
ch 9-10 - keys - neve + compex (!) etc...

I do, however want to try out a few different modules apart from the ones I have already decided on.
So, I have a few questions:

1. What's the word on the ELI Doc Derr?
2. What kind of flavour does the chandler little devil eq and comp bring? What are you using them on ?
3. What's the "best" sounding neve style eq? Heritage? Neve? (I would prefer a 1084 rather than a 1073)
4. What's your verdict on the Portico stuff (543, 551)? Should be pretty decent, right?
5. Anything else...?

Ah yeah, I probably should mention that I do a very wide range of styles (advertising), including film scoring, but also commercial pop/edm etc.

Thanks//O

Lives for gear
At least a pair of 551's. They are just stellar. Only drawback is the sparseness of eq points from 7khz - I would have loved a band at 9 or 10.

Eq is veeeeeeeeeery agressive. Note the large number of "e"s. Its cool if you have something that needs low end. High end is almost unusable. Midrange is very piercing. Now the bass. Its its best job. Real fat.
