Mogami Gold vs. Belden 8218

Which do you like better as an instrument/line cable?

https://www.sendspace.com/pro/dl/3h2e6m

LinnDrum > Belden8218/Mogami Gold > Daking IV Line Input > Mogami Gold XLR to XLR> Lynx Hilo > ProTools, 32/96

Bounced to 16/44.1 with no compression or FX.

They seem a bit different to me!

Yeah, please do another test where you run a signal through
the *cable only* using your DAC and ADC (from out directly back to in).

Bounce the same source signal through both cables, one cable at a time without
changing anything else (do it in Logic, PT, or anything that has accurate enough timing). Then invert phase on one track before mixdown. Is the resulting output signal "audible" (above -60dB level)?

In my case (Mogami gold vs W2549), it was not.

Funny reading this thread a few years later. I've done a lot of listening tests and for instrument cable I'm all about standard Mogami Gold. Sounds the most "analog" of any high end cable I've tried, and I've tried a number of cables.

I have not tried lots of different cables, and I have to admit that my cable housekeeping practices are poor (too much proximity to AC, etc). The only explanation for my studio being quiet is that it’s completely wired with Mogami Gold.
Way too expensive, but I simply don’t hear any noise or distortion from my cables.
