neumann u47 FET

Hi,

Am having a nightmare at a recent complex of 'studios' (actually soundproofed rooms that I've been in the process of converting into suitable studio writing space) in Amsterdam.. the most recent problem was maintenance staff coming into my studio to fix a soundproofing problem with the door, (without proper warning, and moving all the mics that were mid session..grumble grumble) - knocked over a precious les paul onto a brand new u47 FET and put a big dent the top (and leaving it denying all knowledge).

Question is, as the U47 FET is brand new, bought a few weeks before, and aside from being needed for my work, it is collectors mic which I bought for its possible resale capacities in the future and I wanted it replaced for a new one.
Their insurance say if it works then they would look at just replacing the cover - does anyone know if that can be done to bring the mic back to 'as new' or should I stick with getting a replacement?

thanks for any advice

The U47fet is currently in production. You should have no problems getting it back up to spec in sound and appearance. Contact Neumann.
