Trev, only 'a bit'

What is the difference soundwise between the original Abbey Road and the Lisson Grove R-124 respectively your AR1 ?

If there's a generally a difference...

Thanks in advance!

woah.

I'm curious too.

Looks like a Hinson rather than an original though...

Good eye Marc! A bit of digging reveals it is indeed a Hinson

An original would be nearly non-existent.

Those were a small run collaboration between Hinson and David Kean from the Audities Foundation in Canada. The front panels are engraved steel. That is a give away as to their source.

Congrats Trevor. They are great!!

little shoot out today on a vocal between this and the Lisson Grove. First reflections:

The LG has much more low end and more coloured low mids. The Hinson is more mid forward. The vocal sounds cleaner and more 'in your face' as a result. If it was a busy mix and the vocal needed to cut through, the Hinson would need much less work. If it was a more spacious mix that was all about the texture of the vocal, I'd probably plump for the Lisson Grove.

More comments as I use it.
