Harrison Announces Mixbus and Mixbus32C DAW Software Version 3.4

Harrison just announced the next release of their Mixbus and Mixbus32C DAW Software Ver 3.4 and a new Mixbus XT-TG Tom-Tom Gate Plugin, both of which will be available following the summer NAMM show at the end of June.

A clever new feature in v3.4 is a Polarity Maximizer, which automatically calculates the best polarity settings for each individual channel strip of a multi mic recording such as a drum kit or large orchestra to maximize the overall SPL output without adversely affecting stere imaging. A video demonstration of this new feature is at

Two new bundled x42 utility plugins, (stereo-route and MIDI-map) are also included in Ver 3.4 along with a user requested feature, Track Rec-Safe mode, which prevents a track from entering record mode. This update also adds many improvements to existing features, additional user requests, and a number of important bug fixes.

As with all previous v3 updates, Version 3.4 is free to existing users of Mixbus and/or Mixbus32C. Users will receive an email with the update links.

The new XT-TG (Tom-Tom Gate) plugin has 2 special features that you won't find in a standard gate:
1) The user can click a button to train the XT-TG to recognize the tom-tom's sonic character, and the character of the "spill" from other drums (when the tom-tom isn't playing). This helps the plugin separate the tom-tom hits from the other drum hits nearby.
2) The XT-TG recognizes the drum "strike", so it doesn't trigger if the drum is only sympathetically resonating with other drums.

According to Ben Loftis, Mixbus product manager, “We were happy to be able to release Mixbus Ver 3.4 in time for Summer NAMM as the next higher rung on a very tall ladder for Mixbus and Mixbus32C owners. We continue to provide innovative features in both products to help our users produce music more creatively and improve their workflow, regardless of what other DAW's they might also use. We are grateful to our user base for all their comments, suggestions, and most of all their continued and committed support.”
