Active nearfield monitor speakers. Max. SPL rated at 110 dB. Freq. Response 38 Hz - 20 kHz (± 2 dB), 35 Hz - 21 kHz (-3 dB). The crossover frequency between the drivers is 1.8 KHz. It has a 1 inch metal dome tweeter powered at 120 W (+Dcw) direct wave guide, and an 8 inch bass driver powered at 150 W. Connector input is on an XLR. In production from 2008 to 2013, replaced by the 8050B.

But I rather answer here cause I have never listened to the Dynaudios but I've owned 8040s and M040s. gooof The 8040a/b felt certainly a bit boosted in the sound overall. Though I had them for at least 5 years and...
