Adapting Metal Can to DIP

Hi all.

I have a Eminent String Ensemble that I'm repairing.

It uses 3 metal can BBD IC's.. (Metal can version of TCA350)

One of these is sick & I have found the DIP equivalent.

I'm thinking that I solder in a long legged wire wrap style DIP IC socket..

I can't find the specs for the metal can version, but I assume that the tab will line up with pin 8?

Then clockwise 7,6,5,4,3,2,1 ?

ie -it should be simple to bend the pins of the DIP socket in a circular shape and make a square peg fit in a round hole?

Any thoughts?

If the pinout is 1 to 1, one of these should work:

8-pin DIP to TO-99 Adapter (p/n 020601A)

Cool.

That should do the trick.
