Roland RE 501 - Chorus not working

Hi guys,

i've got a Roland RE 501 in very good shape.
After cleaning the heads, changing the felts and replacing the tape it works like a charm.
The reverb is beautiful, however the chorus works when engaged but the intensity pot does not change it.
I've tried to search around w/o any luck.

I have all the schematics and manuals.

Anyone has had the same problem or could point me in the right direction to fix it?

Thank you

tried replacing (or measuring the output of) the chorus intensity pot?
Even better, check out what that pot actually does off the circuit diagram and measure the behaviour of that little block

good place to start I think

do you have a multimeter?
looking at the schematic, I'd be watching Pin 7 of IC8
If the peak-to-peak voltage isn't changing under the influence of the intensity knob then replace IC8

I'll try it ASAP. Thank you very much!

No chorus at all... :(

Instead of starting a new thread, I try to get my answers here...

My 501 is dead silent when in chorus mode/direct signal off.
Measured as described earlier in this thread and the LFO seems to be working. The on lamp for the chorus works as well, so do the echo on switch.

Any clues?
Grateful for any help!
