Yeah, it's underway. There's a link to the construction thread in the design thread.

Enough about me though. Back to tape instructionals!

Wow, great thread! A friend of mine has a 24 track Studer and my days of working with those beasts are many years ago, so this comes in really helpful. Thanks thumbsup

Thanks! I've added your link to the main list! :D

If you have tape and have time, make a video so we can share it here ok?

I have an otari mx5050bII which needs to be serviced but I'll have it done and will be using it in the near future.

Lately I've been looking at the 2" machines... I will have one someday...heh

I'm also considering a 2" like a A800 or a A827 studer! for me the best sounding :D

Hey guys, it's been awhile since my last visit. Anyways, here's an interesting way to include tape to the digital recording process.
part 1:
How to integrate analog tape with your DAW Part 1 - YouTube
part 2:
How to integrate analog tape with your DAW Part 2 - YouTube

I've been using this method for some time now, using my studer A80 2-track and Tascam 48 8-track with great results.
No need for CLASP...

Great Thread...I just bought a Sony TC 377, to start playing and learning before going on the "real" thing!

Got it in a Garage Sale for $15, so will make a service on it and calibrate it!

I liked these videos on youtube
