Has anyone ever tried a Burwon Audio op-amp

Found this thing on eBay, it said "slays OPA627", so I said to myself, "self, you have to check this out".

Question: has anyone else ever tried one of these? They seem to have found a niche in the hi-fi conversion/upgrade world.

If anyone's taken one of these through its paces, I'd be curious to know whether you've had any luck with non-hifi applications, like say, mic preamps, or instrumentation amps.

The company that makes these is in Australia, you can find them at bursonaudio dot com.

well i took a quick look at their site... little to be impressed with... it's a hifi affcianado type company.. and it's not a chip so makes no sense to compare it to opa626 or anyother chip... now if they want to go head to head with say a hardy550 or similar it might be fun to read about it... otherwise... nothing to see here...

It's tested in this document:

It was very high distortion, iirc.

Dear Dave,

I had some (much) earlier versions of those tests, but am glad to see that Groner added a bunch more. Thanks for the current link! Now to dig through them all and make some "decisions"...LOL.

Best,

Bri
