Hammond M2 HELP!

motor runs smoothly, amp works (just got it repaired), speaker hums a bit, but no sound from any of the keys...

What about the preamp?

If it's where it is on a B3, located behind the tonewheels. At least the B3/C3 had a separate preamp cabinet with a few tubes in there, and the pedal linkage went to it as well. The preamp is in there, and the vibrato amplifier, and the percussion gate/amp as well. I don't remember the feature set of the M2, but anyways, that's what's in it in a B3, and where it is.

See if you have signal at the output of the mixing transformer. If you have signal there, then the preamp isn't working right. If there isn't then you need to figure out where it's stopping. Do you have good connections through the drawbars? If there are bad connections or opened resistors, you'll can get the 'quiet' preset 000... (silence). Normally if you pull all the bars out at least one should contact even if you do have drawbar problems.

there are no pre's on a M, and i have it narrowed down to the two tube circuits where the keys go in and come out.
