Roswellite™... a material used in the new Cowley And Tripp Mercenary Edition mic; The Proscenium.

nice ™ symbol... can't find it on anything but this mic... terminator 2?

could be a "new" alloy, could be marketing garble... could be both.

I haven't heard anyone say where exactly the Roswellite is... perhaps is in the body...

Roswellite™ is the wacky name that Bob Crowley came up with for his carbon nanotube ribbon material. Crowley & Trippe developed, and and own it.

Extremely high tech.

That Bob Crowley is quite a guy. The second I heard the name "Roswellite" I knew it came from the brilliant and twisted mind of Mr. Crowley. All those patents (100+) and a sense of humor too. He was in licensing discussions with several ribbon mic mfrs. at AES.

Marketing garble? Hardly. Ever get the balls to put a 4038 inside a kick drum or directly in front of the loudest bass amp on the planet?

The Roswellite material is what makes up the ribbon, so unless your mic was built upside down, I'd say it's somewhere in the grill of the microphone.

Bumping an old thread.

Does anyone know if there's a commercially available supply of Roswellite?

Shure now owns and manufactures those mic's. I bet they don't allow that material to get out.
