Beyer M500, parts no longer available

I sent my Beyer M500 into Beyer for service. They said that they could fix it, but now they are returning it as is. They said that the factory has discountinued the parts. I thought I would let other Slutz know.

Any recommendations for someone who might still have parts?

What parts are you looking for?

You can replace the ribbon in them with an RCA ribbon and they sound less bright and smoother, better if you ask me.

I've read that the magnets get weak over the years. I've also read that they use a special ribbon that withstands high spl's better. Either way, it sounds distorted, especially on the bottom end. The screen is also jacked. I had high hopes, but it looks like a loss. I mostly wanted to post so that other slutz don't waste their time shipping them back. If there was a way for a resonable rebuild, I would go for it.
