Soundcraft 400b monitor section problems

Hey all,

The monitor section on my 400b is on the fritz. It gets a very low signal on the right channel and no signal on the left channel. The pot does control the low signal and the pad switch effects the volume if that helps. I bought this console about a month ago, $200.00, and so far this is the only issue. It was in storage for 5 years and before that had been in a flight case for it's whole life. I had been monitoring off the mains and never used cans with it until yesterday. I wired in dedicated outputs to send the signal to my Event 20/20's and discovered the problem. Any suggestions as where to start appreciated.

Thanks,

Brian

Here's an update,

I pulled the module and removed the face plate. I found a resistor that is fried but it still measures the 75 ohm resistance that it is rated for. It is part of the left channels circuit.(Left channel is not working at all) There is a tl072 that drives the monitor section. I am assuming the resistor is a symptom of a larger problem. I have some 75 ohm metal film resitors but they are 1/4 watt, does this matter? Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks,

Brian
