Motu 828II BLA Mod Heat

I had my 828II modified by Black Lion audio. One thing I have noticed is once the unit has been on, for 2+ hours, it gets VERY hot. So hot I cannot put my hand on top of the unit for more than 5 secs.(Pre mod was never like this). I'm wondering if this is going to cause premature component failure, or if the parts inside can cope with these temperatures? I thought about removing the top completely and running without, or maybe knocking up a wire frame to go over the top with a 1 or 2 Silenx fans going? Do I need to worry or should I leave well alone?

Thanks.

ps Mod sounds Great.
