Can 2 mic cables make up a speaker cable?

I'm looking to run 50' or so of speaker cable from my control room to the guitar cab iso location (8ohms). My question is do I need a dedicated speaker cable, or could I take an existing mic cable, tie all the wires together for a positive lead, and then do the same with a discretly different mic cable for the negative? The reason I'm considering this is because I have a lot of Belken installation lo Z cable. It runs through all the holes in the walls neatly...and It's paid for. My inquiry is mostly about impedance considerations.

You could... but if you are pushing much power over that distance you will still get losses due to wire gauge and, perhaps speaker response errors if wire resistance is significant wrt cabinet impedance changes with frequency. Damping factor for guitar amps is generally not a big deal, but that too could degrade.

Try it, and if it doesn't sound lousy you're OK. The speaker wire split up like that may be more likely to crosstalk into other cables in the same plenum.
