Experience with old TT patchbay, anyone?

Hi guys. I am tackling a TT-type patchbay here. On the back are points for soldering. It comes from a Telefunken console and is constructed in a way with which I am unfamiliar. I find patchbays to be a little confusing in general, but this one....

100 points on the front, immediately behind the front panel each patch point has 7 connectors, which then have wires connected leading to a back plate, where the rows look completely different, suddenly arranged in rows of two. Are the earth-leads separated from the others, possibly?

Ideas? stike
