Burnt out VCF high pass - Neutron

My Behringer Neutron was working fine for a few days, then I tried some wild FM patches on it, and now my high pass VCF doesn't work. I get no sound at all.

I'm thinking it's related to how hot the square wave is and the rapid modulation of the the VCO. I'm not sure.

I would like to start probing around on the circuit board, but I'm not sure where to start.

Has anyone else had a similar problem?

Hi Xlat808,

My name is Joe and I am part of the Behringer support team at Music Tribe. Sorry to hear about the issues you are having here.

Have you tried setting your unit to the default patch as found on page 24 of the Neutron manual? When in this configuration, do you still have issues with the filter?

If you do we may need to discuss this further. Feel free to PM me on here or to submit a support request through our Music Tribe Community care portal.

Thanks,

Joe

Thank you for getting back to me. I opened two tickets on MusicTribe for this issue and didn't hear back. It's great that you look here.

Last night I disassembled and reassembled the unit, and was surprised that the high pass filter works now. I'm not sure how to cancel the tickets on MusicTribe.

Since it's working now, it probably doesn't help to try the default patch. I did make this little video demonstrating the issue. Sorry about the poor audio quality: https://youtu.be/bS5SHKodMms

Anyway. I am absolutely loving the Neutron. It's so inspirational, and seemingly endless. This is my first analog synthesizer and I'm having a great time with it.
