Snare spring reverb plausible???

Hi Everyone , I don't have much D.I.Y. experience. I've seen videos of reverb made from Slinky's. I was considering making an effect from snare drum springs. Has anyone tried that or have an opinion? Would anyone have suggestions on different types of springs or other objects that can be used to create a reverb or echo, double track ect. mechanically or acostically, (low budget garage Alesis Adat studio). Thanks. Respectfully, Don

Not a great idea. And there are plenty of spring reverb units out there, kits, circuits, fully built up.

If you want to mess around with odd-ball DIY reverb approaches, plate reverbs might actually be an easier playground to get passable results in than springs: https://sonicscoop.com/2018/11/24/ho...everb-for-100/

I have used snare hits as impulse response files for a reverb. It has a very unique sound.
But I haven't built a physical one.
