Presto 28N Recording Lathe Restoration

I just finished restoring this, figured some here would be interested...

This world's last remaining, complete Presto 28N double lathe. Believed to be one of five used to transcribe the Nuremberg Trials recordings. Simultaneous dual disc cutting or continuous recording to multiple discs. An identical machine was used by Cosimo Matassa at J&M in the early days to record those genre-defining rock n roll tracks. Early BBC O.B. trucks used them too. Complete with original Van Eps vacuum system (built by banjo legend Fred Van Eps). Most were eventually split down into two 8N systems, but this one survived after being sealed into a room for about 40 years and then was rescued by a collector in the 90's. Now operational again after two long years of painstaking work and a lot of blood, sweat, tears, oil, vaseline, glycerine, IPA (both kinds), chip butties and tons of help and support from some very wonderful people from Salford to Oregon to Kilkis... Absolutely delighted to say that it is now fully functioning and ready for another 70-odd years of cutting discs. A true piece of recording history.

Beautiful. Hope you'll be back to link us to a YouTube vid...with a soundtrack captured by the unit during your demonstration of its operation.
